Report from the 13th Annual Swedish Club Car Show

The 13th annual Swedish Club car show was a great success.

As you probably know, the Norse god Thor is responsible for thunder and Freyr is contracted to manage a diversified portfolio of peace, fertility, rain and sunshine.

My weather app on my phone is directly connected to these guys and the gods were threatening with 83% chance of rain this day and that translates to 100% of your floor boards getting wet.

However, it is clear that the clean living of all these Volvo nerds pleased the gods and we got dry weather and sunshine most of the day.

This 242 car is beyond nice!

The Swedish Club building is totally retro and makes for an excellent backdrop for vintage cars.

A super nice 740 rolled in late and I don’t know the owner’s name.

Some of that 122 stuff…

The green 122 in the foreground was sporting a 1800 E fuel injected drivetrain.

This 1972 Volvo 1800E looks older because of the red paint.

Peggy’s most excellent 1972 1800ES

Mitch Layton took home an award with his mint 1967 122S.He just rebuilt the motor with powerful internals. Engine compartment is as nice as the rest of the car.

Fun fact: Yours’s truly used to own Mitch’s car.

More awards were handed out and Swedish Meat Balls were consumed in massive quantities.

This was an ALL Swedish car event so Saabs were invited and we saw exactly ZERO Saabs! We will make a serious effort to shame…ahem…invite them next year.

Regardless, a GREAT day!
